Mick writes:

This is a collaboration with my old friend and Killing Floor co-founder Bill Thorndycraft. Killing Floor was our band back in the 60s.. we were part of that whole 60s "blues boom" thing with bands such as Free and Led Zeppelin, and we got to tour (twice) with Freddie King, as well as recording a couple of albums. Bill wanted to record this classic Rolling Stones song partly as a tribute to the Stones (his neighbours in West London) and partly because it's a great song.

There are actually two versions of this song. The first appeared on the Clarke Thorndycraft EP "Blues Consultants" and features Bill's acoustic first verse. This is the slightly extended version without the acoustic intro and with both us taking turns on the vocal. Guitars are my Matsumoko Factory "Satellite" and Epiphone Les Paul Junior - I think it's a nice mix.

And in a tribute to the fabulous "More Cowbell" sketch I went and bought one just for this session. You'll be pleased to know I used the space in the studio - you should have been there.

At the end of the song Bill improvised a spontaneous and heartfelt acknowledgement to Mick, Keef and the lads. British rock and roll would certainly not be the same without them. Hope you enjoy the music - keep rockin'.
