Mick writes:

After the relative success of the 'Ramdango' album I was pumped up with ideas for new material to record. The songs for 'Crazy Blues' came in thick and fast, with a few standards thrown in.

I ended up with one of my most successful albums, with 'Steady Road' always popular and 'Complicated Woman' still a constant in my Spotify Top 5.

no way to get along
from "that's no way to get along" by Robert Wilkins

complicated woman

I got a complicated woman - keeps me guessing all the time I never know just what she's thinkin' but I know that she is mine -- well the wind may be howlin the rain is fallin down yeah the wind may be howlin the rain is fallin down but I know my baby loves me -- yeah I got the soundest deal in town -- she bring coffee in the morning - bring me lovin all the time never know just what she thinkin but I know that woman's mine yeah I know she s mine

the thing

might have a little education - that's better than gold you might have a little money - for when you get old but I'll tell bout the thing only thing you needyou need -- you might like a little tipple - you take what you can get you might have a little habit you don't wanna admit but here's the thing the thing that you need -- you need a little boogie woogie to let your boogie man loose a little rock n roll for your dancin' shoes that's the thing that I'm talkin bout - that you don't wanna lose cos you gotta get rhythm when you get the blues

stretch

when you step outside your bubble you might feel uncomfortable or once you're outside your zone - you might find yourself at home mm.. and being an assertive man you activate your master plan take a tip from a lazy cat yawn and just lean back and stretch well.. when you think you've reached your limit you might find there's more stretch left in it c'mon.. yeah .. c'mon and stretch.. stretch yourself

rain

well I'm goin to the country do you wanna go? looks like rain - maybe it looks like snow yeah and the rain's gonna fall on the field by the old hedgerow -- and I looked to the weather - I looked to the west maybe I'd better pay attention to the way I'm dressed yeah a storm is comin and - it looks like an awful mess -- and I looked to the river - what did I see? they need a whole lotta things there but baby they don't need me and the rain is fallin -the rain is all I see..
